I quit my 11 hour a day corporate job in January 2006 because although I was making six figures,  it was killing me. 

I started selling things around the house on eBay because I figured I wouldn't have time once I got another job. 

Friends and family started asking me what I would charge to sell their stuff, and it occurred to me that if I could make enough to make this a business I wouldn't have to get another job!

I had to make enough to make our Bay Area California house payment. 

That was February 2006, and I never did have to get another job.
